My Favorite Boulangerie in Paris

Paris is renowned for its delightful boulangeries (bakeries), each offering a unique array of freshly baked goods. During your stay in the city, make sure to visit these top three boulangeries that I highly recommend.

Liberté

Liberté is a bakery that I often go to, and all of their bread is so delicious. My favorite is Pain Liberté, a simple bread similar to Pain de campagne. Its balance of softness inside and crunchy outer is so delicious. They also have bread with figs, which is also quite tasty. Some bakeries don’t allow you to buy these big breads like pain de campagne in small portions. However, at Liberté, you can buy a small portion of any bread, making it easier to sample their offerings during your visits. This service is especially great for someone living alone as well.

Mamiche

Mamiche is just a short walk from Montmartre. All of their bread looks delicious, making it hard for me to choose. But I absolutely love their croissants! A perfectly crisp exterior that gives way to a rich and buttery center, creating a delightful contrast in textures.

Maison Julien

Last but not least, Maison Julien is a must-visit! I previously mentioned this bakery – the 2020 winner of the Paris Baguette Competition (17th arrondissement) – in this article. My absolute favorite here is the baguette. In France, there are varieties of baguettes, but my personal go-to is the Baguette Tradition. After sampling baguettes from various shops, I’ve found that the flavor can differ significantly from one place to another. The baguette at Maison Julien really stands out for me, so if you’re looking to indulge in some delicious baguettes while in Paris, I highly recommend their Baguette Tradition.
