Cédric Grolet Opéra is a bakery located in the Opera district of Paris. It is a shop opened by pastry chef Cédric Grolet, who became the World Pastry Champion in 2017.
Currently, it is extremely popular and has been featured in magazines such as Vogue France and Elle, as well as other media outlets. The shop opens at 8:30 AM. I arrived around 8:50 AM, but despite it being a weekday, there was already a queue of about 15 people. I waited a whopping 30 minutes just to get one croissant. The shop has a very chic atmosphere.

When it comes to bread selection, this bakery is a bit more limited compared to others in Paris. They serve classic offerings like croissants, pain au chocolat, brioche, and a selection of small cakes. The croissants are priced at 3 euros each, which is higher than the average of around 1.2 euros in Paris, but they are absolutely worth it! With their wonderfully crispy texture, these croissants rank among the best I’ve ever tasted. Even if you just pick up one, they’ll package it in a charming little box for you.

The second floor of the shop offers a delightful café space that you can access without any waiting. Cedric Grolet Opera is a must-visit destination for pastry enthusiasts in Paris. From the moment you step inside, the enchanting ambiance, heavenly croissants, and overall experience will leave an indelible mark on your culinary journey. Don’t miss the chance to indulge in these delectable delights and discover what makes this bakery a standout in the city. It was also featured on Vogue Paris’ YouTube channel.
